Mythology is enacted as a public liturgy. It is of ineffable import. Karen Armstrong, in 'A Short History of Myth,' says that it began when homo sapiens became homo necans, man the killer. It addresses practical concerns, such as how to explain the health symptoms resulting from having killed somebody. King Arthur allegedly withdrew his sword from stone, accidentally killing a fellow knight in the process. Considering that self-hypnosis can induce right arm catalepsy, what really happened?
What is time? Self-hypnosis can influence perception of time. It seems as if time is going so slowly when you self-hypnotise, but afterwards it seems like an instant went by. The Bible says that Phinehas' actions would be remembered for "endless generations". In contrast, "endless genealogies" are contrary to God's work, which is by faith. Another word for genealogies is cladistics. If demon derives from daio, "to distribute", then Satan is trying to drive an engine by means of family connections.
Do myths create an end-times mythology in themselves? There are creation myths and explanatory myths. The creation myths put forward archetypes. The explanatory myths propose correct spiritual action with the archetypes. Are the end-times myths those that justify large-scale murder due to race, colour, creed, gender, sexual orientation etc., completely ignoring the fact that archetypes, by definition, never actually happened; they only exist as a function of mythology? New creation myths don't fix the problem, although they might be a somewhat peaceful "cure", in the sense that a cure is what slows down the drying time of concrete, for a non-Christian (see http://www.cartoonstock.com/newscartoons/cartoonists /jsi/lowres/jsin195l.jpg). The Christian perspective is that our fight is not against flesh or blood (Ephesians 6:12). It is against arguments and pretensions (2 Corinthians 10:5).
In regards to spirit beings, we fight them if they are on the dark side (Ephesians 6:12), but we are also commanded not to slander them (Jude 8). It might be difficult to tell who's who. Michael is the archangel according to Jude 9, but the angelic being in Daniel 10 appeared to think that he was "one of" the chief princes, as in Islam.
There are a few "last days" descriptions in the Bible: Isaiah chapters 3, 57 and 65, Ezekiel 13, Daniel 8:15-27, Matthew 24, Romans 1, 2 Timothy 3, 2 Peter 3 and Revelation 13.
Isaiah 3:9 identifies homosexuality as an issue, as does Romans 1. Romans 1 and 2 Timothy 3 mention
