There seems to be a lot of confusion as to the behavior of a transvestite. The behavior is used interchangeably with crossdressers.
On the surface, crossdressers and transvestites are the same as both behaviors focus on the dressing in the opposite gender. However, the reasons for dressing are different.
Crossdressers have a fetish that extends to the wearing of the clothing. The dressing is primarily sexually driven as crossdresssers become excited sexually from the wearing of the clothing. There is virtually no connection between their dressing and the desire to be feminine.
Transvestites, however, dress for not for sexual but for gender identification. Male transvestites, desire to feel like a woman and love femininity.Though they do wish gender reassignment, they are often jealous of women because they have breasts etc. They likely go out in public and spend hours trying to pass as a female. Their behavior usually is not sexually driven as they may spend the entire day or night as a woman. Transvestives and not crossdressers honor femininity.
