Men supporting the women's movement. To be honest about it, more men today support the women's movement than they did 30 years ago.
Gender equality has made a lot of advancement since it started. Since the Equal Rights Amendment passed in the 70's, our children have been exposed to more women working outside of the home and doing jobs that were previously considered to be "all male".
Our children have grown up with two working parents. They saw girls competing in sports. They have seen female astronauts and politicians. Women working and being equal to men in the workforce became common place. The boys we raised in the 70's and 80's are the men of today and most of them have no problem with the women's movement. In fact, some of them think it has "died out" and is no longer needed because "women have achieved equality".
Unfortunately, there are still some holdouts whose parents did not progress with the times. There are still men who think that women belong in the home "barefoot and pregnant" not in the workplace. Some of this attitude comes from immigrants from countries where women are still "second class citizens" or even the "property" of their father or husband. Some older men in this country were raised the same way and they have been encouraging their children to follow in their footsteps.
Because of people like that, the women's movement has NOT died out. It is not as noticeably active; but, it does still exist and many men do support it.
