Right in your supermarket is everything you need to stay young. Those "best kept beauty secrets," we will get to in a moment. First you should know the most important things you can do to maintain youthful looking skin. First you need to use a high SPF sun block daily and second, stay well hydrated. I keep sun block in a refillable pump bottle on my bureau and use it on my face, neck and forearms every morning. In the summer I sun block my upper arms too. Of course y need to drink plenty of water, those eight or more glasses are important. I keep green tea or water in a large bottle on my desk at work at all times, I drink a lot of both. Take alcohol only in moderation, two or three drinks a week.
If you smoke, quit, it's that simple, smoking reduces the blood flow to the skin which speeds up the over all drying and aging process. It creates lines around the mouth from drawing on the cigarette and stains the hands teeth and nails a yellowish dirty looking color. Just decide, find a method and do it for yourself. Quit, here really is no better time than now.
Exercise will enhance the circulation to the skin, allowing it to stay moist and well oxygenated. This is a good thing, the enhanced circulation will keep the skin well nourished, and the skin cells will stay healthier. Healthier skin is younger looking.
As promised, here are a few foods that, if started early in life, can help you to stay looking at least five years younger than your chronological age. Even if you start eating them later in life, they will slow down the aging process considerably.
They are:
1. Melon, the orange or pink/red have more of the desirable carotids than the white or green ones but they are loaded with health giving water.
2. Spinach, cooked or raw, adding an egg to spinach enhances the body's ability to absorb some of the nutrients in it.
3. Carrots, cooked or raw, they are a power house of cancer fighting and anti-aging elements known as carotenoids.
4. Sunflower seeds, they make a great snack, they are rich in zinc, a must for healthy skin and immunity.
5. Lettuce, especially Romaine Lettuce is great for your skin Choose Romaine when ever the option is available.
6. Blueberries; all berries are good for you but blueberries are the kings of anti-aging. Of the other berries, the darker ones are always the better choice.
