If you want to know if Wal-Mart's Equate brand is a good value or not, try this simple task: compare the ingredients / contents of the Wal-Mart brand with those of the name brand. 9 times out of 10, you will see that the contents of the two products are identical, usually in the same exact order. This suggests that the two products are essentiall the same item.

When you look at it that way, of course the Wal-Mart brand is a good value. The Wal-Mart products are always at least a few cents cheaper than their non-generic equivalent, and sometimes the savings can be up to a few dollars. Personally, I have not found any Wal-Mart Equate brand products that don't work as well as their name-brand equivalent. We buy Wal-Mart brand shampoo, pain relievers, and anti-bacterial soap, among other products. All of them work just fine and save my hard earned money for other things that we need. I call that value.
