Hiding wall imperfections without wallpaper can easily be done and is rather cheap to accomplish. Its easy and can be fun to do.

The supplies you will need are 2 different colors of paint one flat and one semi to high gloss, cloth table napkins, rollers, 2 pans for your paint, disposable rubber gloves and patience.

Begin by selecting your two colors your first color will be flat and rolled onto the wall. Your second color will be semi to high gloss and will be ragged onto your first coat. I have suggested using cloth table napkins as I feel they leave a better ragged looked. You also have to keep in mind any imperfections on the wall can be disguised and made to look less noticeable, yet however it depends on what type of project you yourself are looking to get into and how much you are looking to spend.

My experience has been, we removed a piece of paneling and the wall behind the paneling was terrible. So we spackled and sanded and painted and ragged and you can not see the imperfections as much as you used to I know they are there and my friends state they didn't notice until I mentioned it. So for those of with imperfect walls it is all up to you on how you want to correct it.

When you begin ragging the wall roll up your rag into a ball and place the entire rag into the paint. Roll the rag around between your two hands and find the crunchy design that looks most appealing to you, then begin by jabbing the wall with the rag and keep in mind it is not going to look fabulous at first you have to get a good portion of it done before you can make a decision on if it looks great and looks right.

When it comes to rag painting there is no right or wrong. Continue across your entire wall remembering to keep repeating the paint dip but not to where the rag is dripping. Once you have completed the wall move onto the next walls, when all walls are completed you will go through with the rag and fill in areas no ragged this is when the walls begin to look their best. Remember, this can be a fun project if you have a helper. Good luck and have fun.
