Is a degree in education right for you?

A degree in education can open up many opportunities and enhance others.

One typically thinks first of the opportunity to teach within the public school system. Shaping the minds of another generation is a noble pursuit and certainly not one to be taken lightly. While having summers off can be a great bonus, the school year can involve many long hours, preparing lesson plans, marking tests, etc. Patience will be essential, with some students just not seeming to care. Occasionally, you may get through to one of those students though, and that can make it all worthwhile.

There are also opportunities in adult education. These learners will typically be eager to learn and can therefore be very rewarding. Opportunities may exist at a local community college.

Finally, many corporations require trainers. They need to pass policies, procedures, and other information onto new and existing employees. While a degree in education is not essential, it can be beneficial (especially if specialized in adult education).

If any of these opportunities appeal to you, then you just might find degree in education to be a good fit.
