Essentials for biking safety

Tandem bicycles provide more excitement and fun to cycling. With two persons pedaling the bicycle, more power is created and the bicycle can travel further and faster than a lone-rider bicycle. Even if the two riders on a tandem bicycle produce different strengths, the bicycle can still be ridden without difficulty. More importantly, however, the two riders on a tandem bicycle need to have good co-ordination and communication.

The front rider is the one who sees the road ahead, control the brakes and change the gears. If there is a need to use the brakes, change the gear or make a turn, he or she has to inform the back rider. The back rider should listen to the front rider and act accordingly. Hence, the back rider must have complete trust on the front rider and do whatever he or she says in order for both of them to fully enjoy the ride.

When starting to ride the tandem bicycle, the front rider has to push the right pedal forward to start cycling while the back rider just places his or her feet on the pedals. The front rider needs to steady the bicycle as it moves forward. The tyres of a tandem bicycle should be inflated harder than a lone-rider bike as it is carrying a heavier weight of two riders.

As more people look for a more pleasurable experience in riding the bicycle, better designed bicycles are being created. Due to new technological advances, improvements are being made on various parts of the bicycle such as the gears, brakes, tyres and the type of lightweight materials used for the bicycle. The new developments have resulted in many remarkable designs currently available in the stores. For more information, please visit:
