The nutritional difference between fast-cooked and slow-cooked rice

CHOICES ON THE MARKET

Choosing which rice can be a real pleasure, though choosing which will be more beneficial to health is a very easy choice. Rice that comes in it's more natural form and that has not been processed is always going to win hands down over processed, and the reason really is simple. Most processed rice or quick cooking rice has already had all the goodness boiled out of it, and the nutrient values of both white and brown rice are valuable to human diet.

COMPARING VALUES

Making a comparison in values of rices, the content that is classed as nutrients includes sugars, carbohydrates, sodium, potassium, fiber as well as containing fats, natural gluten and protein in quantities that count towards balanced health.

Comparing the differences in values of prepared rice and brown rice for example, did you know that the brown rice's value in 100 g of rice holds much more protein than it's equivalent in prepared rice. Looking at values between different rices, the ones that really do show up as the most advantageous are brown rices, although surprisingly enough, you can buy white rice that has more nutrients per ounce than any brown rice, a fact that is disputed by many vegetarians, and the form of rice that provides the most nutrients is the pure unprocessed Basmati with Thai Jasmine rice showing a marked improvement on white rice values.

IS PROCESSED WORTH IT ?

Give up those packet foods. They may be convenient time-wise but the extended time you put on your life by eating the correct balance of nutrients will certainly change your mind about the value of buying branded processed, easy to cook and miserably portioned rice in packets.
