Professional Bull Riding, The Fastest Growing Professional Sport

Pro bull riding has a fan base that is eclipsing that of all other professional sports. It is currently the fastest growing professional sport in America. The Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough tour visits most of the major cities across the country.

The events are televised on Versus and NBC this season and the network crew does such a great job in their coverage that it is just like being at the arena. Each weekend the top 45 cowboys take on the rankest bulls that the stock contractors can breed. The riders try to stay on for an 8 second ride without touching the bull with their free arm. If the rider is successful he and the bull both receive a score.

Then the 15 cowboys with the top scores ride once more in a championship round or "short go." The rider with the most points at the end wins. Points are awarded for winnings and places per round and at the end of the season a World Championship is held in Las Vegas. Riders and bulls with the best showings over the season are invited to compete for the World Championship titles.

We call it the toughest 8 seconds on dirt. This is extreme sport at its most dangerous and most exciting to watch. Bull fighters try to help protect the cowboys from injury once they come off but are not always successful. Sometimes they too get stomped. Tune in, and watch your local paper for events in your home town. Its great family friendly entertainment. Get a program and the riders will autograph it for you after the event!
