Lily was an old fashioned girl with an old fashioned name and liked to do modern things, like jumping out of trees in long flowing dresses.
Lily's sister, Arrow, was a modern girl with a modern name, but she liked to do old fashioned things like, embroidery.
One day, Arrow was embroidering Lily's dress with the usual floral decorations that she liked to do. Lily loved it and couldn't wait to jump out of a tree wearing it.
Arrow didn't like jumping out of trees, but she loved to plant things in the garden. She didn't just plant any old thing! She loved orchids, because they reminded her of embroidery.
Lily was ready to jump. She had climbed high up into the one and only tree in their garden. Arrow was planting an orchid. Arrow was listening to the most modern music that she had ever listened to. She didn't notice Lily, gliding slowly towards her.
Lily could not see Arrow rocking back and forth to her modern music. Lily's dress had ballooned out like a large parachute. All of sudden, there was a thud and two screams.
Lily pulled herself together, dusted off the squashed orchids blossoms from her dress and climbed off of her sister. Arrow looked horrified. Her iPod was broken, not to mention most of the orchids that she had painstakingly palnted that spring.
"That's the last time I embroider your dress for you"! Shouted Arrow, desperately trying to fix some of the broken stems.
"I am so sorry"! Exclaimed Lily. "I didn't see you there"! Lily ran, and tripped and ran into their house.
Lily and Arrow lived together in a large Victorian style house. They had both been abandoned by their parents in their mid thirties and were left to fend for themselves. Fortunately, Arrow had been a drummer in a well know rock band and was living off of her royalties. Lily had a degree in Horticulture and had made a lot of money from her prize winning vegetables that she grew in her bedroom closet.
Lily went inside of the house and ripped off her dress and stuffed it into the trash can. She went upstairs, picked up her violin and started playing.
Arrow, got up and went into the house, poured herself a very large glass of carrot juice and rummaged through a kitchen drawer looking for some duct tape.
Lily and Arrow rarely got into arguments, but when they did, weird and wonderful things would happen. For the most part, they agreed on things and understood each other. Arrow, being the older sister, was usually the one to calm Lily and give her support. Without that, Lily was lost.
