How to decide which musical instrument to study

I remember when I was first picking out a musical instrument to play. I had no clue what to pick.

My mother ended up taking me to a music store to get an idea of what I want to pick out. My mother asked the salesmen if he would try out some if the instruments so I could see what they were like. After spending a good amount of time in the store we went home.

Later my mom told me to pick which ones I liked the best. After choosing my top three we went out to a music store and bought three cds that corresponded to the instruments I wanted. I listened to them so I could get a feel for their sound and how they would play.

The important thing that I had to remember was that learning an instrument can be difficult and I need to not give up on it so easily. I definately recommend going and seeing the instrument played and seeing what you like.
