With me being constantly online with my face glued to the computer, I know that I'm probably one of the few true computer-addicts to have learned several computer languages such as HTML, JavaScript, and/or ClingOn. The language I'll be showing you certain key aspects towards is HTML. HTML is the acronym for Hyper-Text Mark-up Language.
HTML is the basic of the basic computer languages. Because it is possible to learn almost everything of basic HTML in one day because of its limited vocabulary and its basic format.
An HTML file can be created through NotePad, MS Frontpage, or Macromedia Dreamweaver. To create it go to Start Menu > Programs > Accessories > NotePad, and immediately click Save/Save As and put 'titlename.html' as the saved file. Now, whenever you open your file after you've entered the correct text, you'll find it opened as your default browser unless opened otherwise.
I won't go through the basic stuff you can obtain through HTML Dog or any person that knows HTML. You know you need to type in
The width and height attributes are necessary because if they are excluded, the browser will tend to calculate the size as the image loads, instead of when the page loads, which means that the layout of the document may jump around while the page is loading.
The alt attribute is the alternative description. This is used for people who cannot or choose not to view images. This is a requirement in the latest versions of HTML.
I decided to place the directions on how to place images in HTML, because that's one of the most frequently asked questions that people ask me.
If you're having a bit of a problem, just take a break, play a game or get outside. You don't HAVE to cram it all in one day. Although it is possible to get HTML down in one day. It's nearly impossible to master it in one day. So take it easy, one step at a time.
