Tips for exercising even when you don't have time

Life is busy and sometimes you just don't have time to exercise. The good news is you don't have to have a lot of time to start incorporating exercise into your daily life. In order to fit exercise into your busy lifestyle you just have to use your imagination a little bit.

Below is a list that includes some simple ways you can incorporate exercise into your day without re-arranging your schedule.

* When you wake up take a few minutes to stretch. This doesn't have to be a long time consuming thing. Just a few minutes and really stretch. Stand up straight and reach up with your hands. Reach like you are trying to touch the ceiling with your finger tips. Take slow deep breaths while stretching. Next do about 10 toe touches and finish up with a couple of lunges.

* While your getting ready turn on some music so you can dance a little while getting ready. You don't have to stop what your doing to dance, that would defeat what we are tying to do. We are trying to add activity without throwing your schedule off. Just add some simple hip rotations to the music when your walking to the closet or reaching to get your shoes, or styling your hair.

* When you are searching for a parking space park a little further from the door and pick up your pace when walking to the door.

* Friends have told me that during the work day they find it helpful to do wall push ups every time they go to the bathroom. Each time they go to the bathroom they do 5 or 10 wall push ups.

* At home in the evening a stability ball can be helpful. When your sitting with the family watching TV or helping your child with home work sit on the stability ball. This will help with balance and will also help tone the abs. Who knows you may end up bouncing on the ball which is considered aerobic sitting.

* Play with the kids, they need to play and you are going to spend time with them. Why not get outside and play together. You'll all benefit from the exercise and the fun.

Use your imagination and you will find many ways to fit moments of exercise into your every day life. You don't have to exercise for extended periods of time. That is best but some days it is not possible especially if you are just starting to exercise. So start slow using your imagination to find ways to add a bit of exercise and stretching into your busy days. Eventually you'll probably be inspired and be able to find more ways and more time to exercise.
