How to fund college if you're not rich

There is plenty of ways to pay for college even if you're poor. I'm a huge fan of the College Level Examination Program (CLEP). It's a program that gives college credits by passing a test.

You can buy a used text book for the subject you want to earn college credit in.
I have bought books for $1 on-line. Study the subject and pay as little as $50 to take the exam. If you receive a passing score then you can be given credit for that course from your college. That's a course that you won't have to pay for and you save time by skipping the prerequisite course and start taking the more valuable courses.

Contact the school you are interested in attending and find out what CLEP test subjects they accept. You can spend a semester taking the tests and saving money and the time you save from not sitting in class can be used to work a job to save money.
