Arboriculture is the little known study of trees. Arborists are, therefore, individuals who have a profound understanding of what is required to plant and sustain trees.
Although they typically practice in urban areas where the health and lifespan of trees are greatly at risk due to environmental factors such as air pollution and lack of fertile soil, arborists are often called out to the field to do research in suburban or rural areas when a particular tree is in danger.
The increasingly important role of trees in our society, which is mainly centered on photosynthesis and the production of our oxygen supply, places a lot of weight on arborists' shoulders. Although their work can sometimes be labor intensive and physically grueling, arborists are often called upon by lawmakers and lobbyists to provide expertise on the trees of a particular region, which requires plenty of bureaucratic paperwork and other associated government reports.
The benefits of trees are widely known by many people nationwide, but very few individuals have the skill, training, and adaptability to participate in arboriculture.
