Losing the negative person in you

LOSER LANGUAGE,

There is a language being spoken all over the world by every race, color, and creed.
Perhaps you have heard of this language? Or perhaps you have even spoken it yourself? Does this sound familiar? WHY ME? I NEVER GET A BREAK! LIFE SUCKS! ITS NOT MY FAULT! I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM! I WILL NEVER BE HAPPY! IT'S YOUR FAULT! BETTER HIM, THAN ME! I CAN'T DO ANYTHING RIGHT! I WILL NEVER SUCCEED! I DON'T TRUST ANYONE! THE ONLY PERSON YOU CAN DEPEND ON IS YOURSELF!

Does any of this sound familiar? This kind of negative spew is what is affectionately known as " LOSER LANGUAGE'! The dead give a ways to recognizing when it is heard are: self-pity, guilt, dwelling in the past, failure to take responsibility, judgment, excessive anger, and hatred.

In trying so hard to control our lives we often miss the entire point of living. Where is the quality of life when it is spent chasing the unattainable, and unrealistic goals we set for ourselves! Or for that matter the unrealistic expectations we place on others?

Let's put this into material terms. You are the proud owner of a fast, beautiful car this is wonderful. What about the person sitting behind the wheel? Is he\she a person of real worth? Or just another accessory for this fast, and beautiful automobile? In fact who is driving whom? You, or the fast, beautiful car? I almost forgot to mention the fast, beautiful car's very large monthly payment.

Wonderful! You have a fast, beautiful car, and 2 jobs to keep the payments. You are tired, miserable, you don't socialize much, you don't get on well with others, and you are not the person you are supposed to be. But at least you have your fast, beautiful car!

Unfortunately the human soul does not recognize the value of your fast, beautiful car. For it is life itself that nourishes the best part of us.

You now say " what does my fast, beautiful car have to do with being a loser"? Well its very simple. Very few people in this world will actually live up to societies expectations. But the rest of us continue to try, and try, and try. All the while our own feelings of self worth begins to suffer. With our confidence eroding, we begin to make poor choices, and of course someone has to be blamed. This is when we begin speaking " Loser language". Life becomes one gigantic " I HAVE TO ", and many people end up feeling so badly about themselves. They begin to victimize others, be it verbally, physically etc. The end result is the creation of more low self-esteem, and of course more
