When is the last time you saw a plus-size model walking down the runway at a high-fashion showcase? Me, never. All I see are these waif-thin girls who look like they haven't eaten in a year.
As to what they are wearing...any self-respecting girl over 135 lbs wouldn't be caught dead in those clothes. It's one thing to wear a halter if you are made perfectly, another to wear one if your breasts aren't absolutely perky and your skin flawless.
I have to congratulate those girls on staying in perfect shape, but that doesn't address the issue. The issue is this, simply put - not all of us are skinny, not all of us have perfect features, therefore, we cannot wear what fashion dictates is "in". We have to pick and choose from what is acceptable, but we still end up being on the wrong side of the fashion fence more often than not.
My solution: Have Gucci, Vera Wang, etc. design several lines of clothing for "real" looking women. Have those clothes be just as exciting, colorful, and just plain beautiful as those other clothes.
