On the go: Preparing a healthy breakfast in 5 minutes

Make your own breakfast sandwich. It's much quicker, cheaper, and healthier to make your own breakfast sandwich before you leave the house in the morning then to pick one up at a fast food joint. There is no extra temptation to make it a "value" meal or buy extras. And no waiting in line, so extra bonus!

Spray a custard cup (glass 6oz ramekin) with non-stick cooking spray (if you don't own these then you can use a small tupperware or bowl, something that is microwave safe, circular in shape, about the width of a bagel or smaller).

Crack an egg into the cup, gently beat for 10 seconds with fork. Sprinkle with salt and pepper if desired.

Place in microwave, cook on high for 55 seconds. Might take longer in your microwave, depending on wattage. Obviously make sure it is cooked all the way, not runny. Continue microwaving for 15 second intervals until done.

Toast a bagel or english muffin. Butter and sprinkle lightly with garlic salt.

Customize to your liking! I add ham or bacon to the sandwich. Others like meat and american cheese. Enjoy!
