Should there be no religion... what a perplexing question. Religion is supposed to be a way to find meaning behind good and bad events, but it seems to have caused more fatalities then anything else through contrasting beliefs.

A world without religion, may or may not be a good thing. It could go either way. on the one hand there would be no Christians fighting with Muslims, or any of that. but on the other hand, religion helped many many people get through hard times, and survive mental illnesses like alcoholism and depression through the knowledge of a greater power then themselves.

The idea of abolishing religion is impossible, you cannot force belief, especially not when people already have beliefs of their own. Abolishing religion now would be disastrous. Maybe if religion never existed it would be a better world, and maybe not. No real way of knowing other then considering the pros and cons of religion today. But as a final point, I would like to state that belief is natural in the human mind, and can't really be morphed or changed, so its not that we can do anything about having religions anyway.
