Absolutely not! While your boss may have been terrific, he/she now answers to the beat of another drummer and while having the option presented to you is flattering
it is foolish to presume that his/her star and more importantly your own will rise
within the ranks of this new company.
The buisness world is constantly changing and there is no such thing as Job security
even CEO'S have been let go by " The Higher up Board Of Directors". What some call
daring or taking a risk Usually leads to disaster rather than glory and long term
success.
It would be smarter to stay and show your new boss how valuable you still are,at the
family company and work your way up to perhaps fill the shoes that your former boss
has left empty .It is far better to stay in the trenches of a successful career than
to coast like a kite for the moment on someone elses success, before You, and your
career come crashing to the ground. Never take a risk based upon the other person's
merit, and good intentions That is the shortest and quickest route to the unemployment
line or at best a demotion( YOU KNOW A TOKEN POSITON) at the new company, remeber it's your former boss that they want not you. Its like the buy one get one pair half
off sale stores do this not to be kind, but to move merchandise that would other wise
sit on the shelf. Stay the course after all if you were good enough to receive such
an offer time and further advancement is on your side and on your ownterms.
