The first time I saw a road runner I was in love. They looked a lot like all the other muscle cars of their time just a little smaller. More streamlined, made to be bare boned so the less wealthy could afford a muscle car which made them the best around. Without all the bells and whistles they had fewer problems, and could still compete with the 'vettes and mustangs that the rich had. They were the working mans sports car, but they needed a catch to make it appealing to everybody. So they called it the road runner and put the cartoon image on the car, but then they went the extra mile and put in the horn. "Meep, meep!" The sound that takes me back to Saturday morning cartoons, when I could eat sugary cereal in my pajamas. I had no job, no taxes, and no problems. And I knew that the road runner would get another one over on that dumb coyote because the road runner was fast, and always won. Meep, meep.
