Would you prefer not to send in the clowns this time around? Here are some creative ideas to help you celebrate your child's birthday without the fuss of a birthday party.
1. Visit the science museum! Not just any regular museum, make sure you go to a museum that is interactive and caters to children. The science museum is a great place for your child to learn, but more importantly it's a lot of fun! Have your child invite a few friends, and even bring along their parents!
2. Take your child to a theme park! He or she will quickly forget that there will be no birthday party with the promise of a visit to Mickey! Although you may have to travel to get to a theme park, your child's birthday will be so memorable, and you can make a family vacation out o fit!
3. Go to a zoo or aquarium. Children love animals, and most zoos and aquariums cater to children with petting zoos/exhibits, fun rides, and fair food! Plus, your child will learn all about animals/fish in a more natural environment. These places also cater to big groups if you want to take a few friends and family members.
4. Go to a pottery making store where you child can paint his/her own piece! This is a great way to bond as a family and also exhibit artistic talent. Your child will love the sense of accomplishment, as well as how fun it is to paint!
5. Take your child to a fun-themed restaurant like Rainforest Cafe. That way someone else can handle the cooking, and you can enjoy eating out!
6. Check out your local events. There may be a fair, concert, ice-skating show or the Wiggles might be coming to town!
