For some reason people have a psychological possession and relationship with their hair. After a divorce, break-up, before a wedding, high school reunion or any even that brings stress with it we tend to run out and do something with their hair. When we're looking for a change in our lives we have a habit of playing around with our look first and foremost. In addition to this idea of hair and change, we also buy an endless number of hair products. Bathrooms all over are crammed and flooded with styling tools, products and special shampoos.
It is apparant that we take concern and great pride of our hair.
So why the fear of a haircut amongst all this? The color and cut of a hair not only affects how we feel but obviously how we look! Hair is sometimes more important than the outfit that we pick out or the shoes we spent so much money on. If you look like a million bucks but have a terrible haircut, it takes away from the whole look!
So things to remember: Go with a haircut that will flatter your face.
Then play off of that with layers, and colors that will flatter your personality. It helps to find a picture in a magazine, or a book of hairstyles and cuts that you feel would look good on you. Bring that in to your hairdresser and have her recreate the look in a way that will look good on you personally.
Don't fear the scissors! A good hairdresser will discuss with you first what you're looking for and more importantly what you are not looking for in a haircut. After all it is you who is going to be walking around with this new look. Watch in the mirrors, they aren't just there for the stylist, to see if you like where it's going. Put some faith in the job, but at the same time if you see that you aren't happy with where it's going say something before its too late!
With you yourself having a little charge over your look there is nothing to fear of a new haircut. Just go with an idea of what you want and walk with confidence in your new look!
