that challenges us as Christians. When this happens, we have two paths we can choose. The first is to grasp on to whatever we can that is familiar and try to carry on as usual or withdraw completely, or we can choose the second path. The second path is to look Jesus right in the eye and say, "OK, let's explore this. Help me understand this." That is tough to do. It sounds easy but it isn't. Believing in something or someone you can't see or touch is tough. Being a Christian is tough. Jesus asks a lot of us. As Christians, he asks us to take his light and shine it across the world. We, like the disciples, are challenged with witnessing to the world that Jesus is our savior and through him we will find salvation. It's not something we can do by ourselves. We need each other.
Together we can carry that light. Together we can lead this congregation into the future. Together we can take what James has started here and build on it. We are strong, we are Christians and we are ready. Together we can look Jesus in the eye and say we are ready, we will be your witness, we will build this church, and we will spread your word.
We are a strong church with strong members. We are shaking in our shoes but we are ready to step forward and embrace our own transfiguration. Our spiritual growth must continue. "This is my Son the Beloved; listen to Him."
