Gone too far?
I say that we haven't gone far enough!
We have millions of undocumented, illegal immigrants in the country, and we are doing absolutely NOTHING to find out who these people are, and what they are doing here. If that wasn't bad enough, we have yet to secure our borders, and many more illegals cross over everyday.
We continue to give enemy combatants "country club" treatment. They get a nice bed to sleep on, three good meals a day (that fit into their religious dietary restrictions), and some of the best medical treatment available. They call this "torture". Meanwhile, if the enemy happens to capture an American, he is lucky to leave with his head still attached.
We have a Congress that wants to give aid and comfort to the enemy. After all, they are really good people, they just became killers when mean ol' George Bush invaded their space. So, we just need to pull out our troops and let these people go back to their docile, kind-hearted lifestyle.
We are bending over backwards to give in to the religious needs of the Muslims, while everyday Christians are losing their religious liberties. Major retailers are working to make sure that Muslims that work at check-out registers don't have to deal with people that are buying pork. Major cities are working on plans to make sure that Muslim taxi drivers don't have to transport people who are carrying alcohol. God forbid if we place a nativity scene in a public park!
We can't "racial profile" because we are afraid of offending someone. Forget the fact that Middle Eastern Muslim males between the age of 20 - 40 carried out the September 11 attacks.
People are saying that we have had to give up some of our freedoms in order to remain safe. Aside from the fact that I have to wait a little longer when I go to the airport or a major sporting event, I haven't really noticed any change in my life.
Luckily, we have done enough to stop another attack on our soil. But, I think that there is still so much more that we can do to protect our country.
