Dos and don'ts of hosting a sleepover party for your kids

Ever wonder if having a sleepover at your own home, that you've made your own is a great idea with all those kids or teens?
Dos:
First of all, make sure your child doesn't feel pressured to have a sleepover because a sibling had one, or because people at school are having them. Make sure it's what they want to do and it's not peer pressure. These days, peer pressure is a big problem. Next, make sure it's a party that has decorations that are fun and kids will enjoy them. Have a theme and it makes it a lot easier if the child helps somewhat with what to get for the party. Oh and a BIG part of throwing a party, have a curfew or at least tell them to be quiet when everyone is going to bed. You don't want someone to be mad at your child just because everyone was loud and they couldn't sleep that night. Also, ask the parents of the children for there phone numbers so if there is a problem, you know where to call.

Don'ts:
First off and probably most important, don't let your child be the boss of planning this party. Let them have some say to what is going on but don't let them take over. Another thing to remember is, don't let all the children have their way all the time. They may be here on a type of "vacation", but they are not here to be your living nightmare so set some ground rules when everyone gets to the party. Also, Don't try to be super parent by planning all these different things that children might not like. If you know the parents of the children that are coming, ask them for there child's interests. Find something they all have in common to do. Oh and make sure you give the whole game plan to the parents before the party. If there is a problem with allergies reactions, religion, or just plain out something not liked, they can tell you.

Good Luck to all you Sleepover parents! Don't forget to look at these pointers during your sleepover.
