Making Earth Day meaningful for children of all ages

is inexpensive and going the organic route.

When you are grocery shopping, you can buy organic meats and cheeses. They do not possess any of the artificial additives.

Cooking Organic:

When you are cooking, use organic ingredients. If you are going to buy and eat organic, you might as well start cooking organic.
This is a step towards healthy eating for yourself and your children.

There are plenty of Earth-friendly recipes on the Internet. All you need to do is to look them up.

Walking & Public Transportation Over Driving:

Depending on where you live, this may not be the most feasible of choices. This is better reserved for those that live in the more urbanized area. It is because that public transportation is fairly inexpensive. You can get from point A to point B as a result. If you take a combination of walking and public transportation, you get your daily exercise in. On top of that, you do not have the need to drive much. In most cases, you really do not need to drive at all.
You cut down on the money spent on gas.
On top of that, you will be doing your part in protecting the environment.

Recycling and Reusing:

That is very self-explanatory. For recycling, you can keep a bin for you recyclables: glass, paper, plastic, tin, and aluminum. You can take the stuff to the nearest recycling center. There could be a recycling drive for Earth Day. Why not conduct a weekly recycling drive?

Containers do have their uses. Glass jars can be used to store all sorts of supplies. You can use tin containers for the same thing. Or, you can use them to grow all sorts of plants. In short, make use of your containers. If you have a garden, use your coffee grounds as compost.

Overall, these are methods in which you can make Earth Day meaningful for all children. However, it is best to lead by example. Again, do not celebrate the Earth and its environment for only one day. Why not make Earth Day everyday?
