How long will the bling bling trend last?

What the heck is a bling bling exactly? It sounds like a painful rash. Perhaps it is the noise you dont want your car to make. Maybe it is what you get with an egg roll and rice at the Chinese restaurant. Could it be the sound your change makes as it hits the sidewalk, when you have a hole in your pocket?

Some things remain the same, only the words change. It is all in the word and the definition. How do we decide what means something? If you are fat you are obese. If you are phat, then that's terrific. If you are cool, that is good. If you are hot, that's good, also. As if definitions were not difficult enough, it seems it goes on and on....

"Bling Bling" means jewelery.(in some forms of slang) Lots and lots of jewelry. Gold. Silver. Diamonds. Lots of shine. If you have alot of jewelry then you stand out and that is cool. People who wear alot of jewelry look hot. I never much understood slang. I guess I never will.

Perhaps the word may go away and the next term will be more ridiculous than before? As long as there are men and women, men will use jewelry to apologize. It will never be a passing trend. As long as the audience is there, we will always have it. We want it because that's what someone popular has. It's like we almost think following in their footsteps makes us more like them.

The more people endorse it, the more we want it. It is the cool thing to have. Look at the original material girl Madonna, not to mention other greats like Cleopatra, Mr. T., and Flava Flava. There have always been people who like jewelry. It is just how they present it to the public. Do we want to follow them or not?

To each his own. We all have the need to express our creativity in our own way. I guess I have homeys. I guess I have gees. But gold and silver in my teeth...That's just not me!
