Testimonies about oxycontin: The dangers and the myths

. They should not be mixed with alcohol and should be taken with caution. All opiates mask pain which render a person in pain to accomplish tasks under strain that under normal conditions (not under the influence of the drug) would feel, thus they push their bodies to limitations that they ordinary would not do. They move faster, lift without thinking, walk swiftly and when the drug wears off, the crash attributions associated with their long term use led to muscle soreness and chronic fatigue of long term user's. Or even at the end of a day of taking it once perhaps.

To get an idea of the power of a Oxycontin all you have to do is simple math. A 40 Milligram would be the equal of 8, 5mg Percocets thus the 80 Oxycontin is the equal of 16 Percocets.

At one time or another you or a person you might know may have gone to the emergency room with a back injury and was given 5 mg Percocets. So if you have had a 5 mg percocet you realize and can imagine how powerful of 40 mg Oxycontin can be. To some people, pain-killer's make them tired, to some they wake up and give them energy. A pain pill has never made me tired. A lot of people I have talked to react the same way, so how a drug reacts with a person is dependant on the person, a Doctor will not know how you react with medication. A doctor does not know what dose is best for you. A doctor does not know what interactions you may have with the drug. I had a problem eating fatty foods with Methadone. I would eat a greasy meal and been down for the count like I ate a horse tranquilizer. Tell your Doctor exactly what is going on, never assume just because he is a Doctor he or she knows everything.

The Oxycontin tablet is a high quality compressed Oxycodone sealed in a time release wax shell. The analgesic threshold is maintained at 12 hours. The drug's half life is 6 hours which means 3 hours later you have half the dose in you. However Oxycodones half life is 4 hours roughly but it is the large concentrated time release trick that extends Oxycontins half life. It is called Oxycontin being it is Oxycodone and Continuous, OXY-continuous. So to an individual that is in chronic pain, this is a remarkable drug. This medication gave the person the convenience of taking a tablet only twice a day as compared to every three or four hours. Thus they do not have the mood high and lows that accommodates the blood level toxicity loss of a short term pain -reliever your brain and liver want. At least for the moment. Also individuals
