How to deal with dust allergies and other spring cleaning respiratory problems

Spring cleaning can be a nightmare for someone who is allergic to dust, but if you minimize the airborne particles and work with some type of ventilation, you will surely survive to clean another day.

If you are only having problems when you stir the dust up in the air, you can remedy this by wearing a paper mask. These are inexpensive and not uncomfortable at all. Also don't dust with a dry cloth, use one dampened with water or some type of furniture polish.

There are a lot of things in the springtime that can cause breathing problems, the main one being pollen. It can get inside your sinuses and wreak havoc, causing sneezing, coughing, watery eyes, runny nose, and headaches among other things.

In most cases, all that is needed is some over-the-counter remedies. I take antihistamines, the non-drowsy type. They help me immensely, I would really suffer without them.

If you are having serious respiratory problems, get to the doctor! He can diagnose what is affecting you, and prescribe something to correct it. The good news is, that spring will be over before you know it..and all will be right again.
