Your wedding gown should go hand in hand with your personality, and the theme of your wedding.
The first thing to take in consideration is where the wedding is going to take place and the season.
Starting with the ceremony. If in a church, even though the current trend is sexy wedding gowns, you might want to consider a little jacket that has the same applications as your dress and that you will be able to take off during the reception. If the ceremony and the banquet will take place in the same location then you can be more bold and go with the sexy trend.
If the wedding is inside or outside. If it is outside, is it in a garden or a beach? Wind is an element to take into account. Many layers of material can be very uncomfortable and always get in the face and ruin some of the pictures.
Will you be wearing white or cream? Sometimes we find the perfect gown in the wrong color. Many bridal shops carry the same model in both shades. If you are naturally pale, the cream color goes better with your skin. If you have darker skin, then the white will look captivating.
If you are a hopeless romantic, go for a more Victorian style, you can always find one that does not carry the long sleeves and it is still an exquisite choice for a romantic sweet look.
I am sure your mother, bridesmaids and every female in your near family will want to go shopping for the "Big Day Dress" with you, and everyone will have their own opinion and taste. Be sure to pick up the dress that satisfies YOU more than anybody else. It is you who will be wearing it and the pictures will be there a life time.
Among the myriad of dresses to chose from, remember that the style you've always wore before (homecoming, graduation and other weddings before yours) can be an option but not necessarily a most. Remember that while you are out shopping for your dress, you can try on all the styles, cuts and designs there are until you find the one that says "This is Royally Me"
Will you be wearing a tiara? a long veil or a short one? When choosing your veil, be sure to go one day with your hair up and try everything you like and then go back the next day with your hair down, and see which one frames you face and features best.
The key to getting the perfect gown lies between you and the mirror. Wear different hair styles when you go shopping and wear lipstick and make up as well, this will help you visualize yourself easier.
Your skin has to be prepared for that day as well, creams and facials help, but the most astounding results come from eating lots of fruits and juicy vegetables, like mexican squash, which when boiled, becomes an excellent source of hydration.
On your wedding day, drink the juice of two lemons as soon as you wake up. Your complexion will be perfect all day.
Remember this is a time to enjoy, not to stress out. Take a deep breath, relax and enjoy the most wonderful day of your life.
