How to personalize your wedding gown

Although a wedding gown should make you feel like a beautiful princess, it is not the best idea to go overboard in personalizing it. You should look for a dress that compliments your body type. Do not worry if it's not a perfect fit. You should have your dress tailored and pressed before your big day.

A great way to pick a wedding dress of your taste is to look at wedding magazines. Do you want a princess style or a more modern look? Long or short train? Long or short sleeves? Do you want to be lacey or flowery? Although some women go for different colored dresses, most opt for white. But even if you wear a white dress, you can still have subtle touches, like pink flowers or beading. But make sure it matches your veil if you wear one! Another way to personalize your wedding dress is to have colored detailing, such as around the waste or sleeves, that matches the dresses of your bridesmaids. If you want a subtle detail that no one will see, have you and your husband's names and the date of your wedding sewn into the label.

Another way to personalize your wedding dress is to look at magazines and see which styles you like best. You can also consult with the experts that you are planning on getting your dress from. Davidsbridal.com has a great "dress your wedding" feature you can use to see various lengths and styles of dress.

No matter how you choose to personalize your wedding gown, make sure you feel absolutely lovely. It may take a few dresses to get to the perfect one, but when you do you will feel like a total princess!
