Hollywood marriage! The very term conjures up thoughts of divorce ending in tears, entertainment empires being torn apart and dirty little secrets being revealed that the Hollywood press lap up and then sensationalize. But not all Hollywood marriages end in divorce, there have been some that have been long-lasting and it seems both partners are still very much in love with each other. Let’s take a look at some of the long-lasting Hollywood marriages that have endured the pressures of tinsel-town.

Hugh Jackman & Deborah-Lee Furness – One of Hollywood’s long-lasting marriages is one that many tabloid journalists have decided to poke fun at over the years. Academy award nominated actor Hugh Jackman first met Deborah Lee-Furness, who is thirteen years his senior, when they acted in television prison drama series together called ‘Correlli’. The age difference has had journalists joking about the fact that ‘Jackman brought his mother to the awards’ while many others had said the marriage wouldn’t last once Jackman became known in Hollywood. But the couple have proved their doubters wrong. Jackman said it was love at first sight when he met Furness, and they married at St. John’s Church in Toorak on the 11th April, 1996 where they exchanged wedding rings which had a Sanskirt inscriptions that read ‘Om paramar mainamar’ (translation: we dedicate our union to a higher source). Jackman and Furness’ marriage has survived two miscarriages, but the couple have two adopted children, Oscar Maximillian and Ava Eliot. While the couple haven’t acted together since ‘Correlli’ they do in fact own a production company as a joint effort.

Gavin Rossdale & Gwen Stefani – Marriages between musicians don’t normally work but when Gwen Stefani’s band ‘No Doubt’ opened for Gavin Rossdale’s ‘Bush’ love certainly blossomed. The pair married on September 14th, 2002 in London and then had a second ceremony two weeks later in Los Angeles. It hasn’t always been smooth sailing for the pair however; their marriage endured a lot of scrutiny in the press when Stefani temporally left her punk-rock band No Doubt to begin a pop/R&B solo career and then they experienced personal grief in 2004 when it was revealed that Rossdale had a child from a previous relationship with model Pearl Lowe, something that he didn’t know about.
