Negative images of my life
dour, covered in grey.
In silent denial, sitting
a cloak of dim shade.
Monotone emotion is smothered
and sour.
Was life never meant
to be free?
Life is a feather
caught in the branch
of a tree.
The more the wind blows
the more life
that feather will see.
Sorrow's weight floats on
my river of suffering.
Washes away all my sin.
Caustic thoughts feed
my body tension.
There is no right or wrong
way to battle my ego.
The ego always wins.
So I tell me
keep your chin up,
always be you
change for better starts within.
If I think it,
I begin to be strong.
Monotone to rainbow
dance away my fear from within.
I master my emotion
wash away tears.
And I tell
me,
keep your chin up,
that's why you're here.
