Practicing Christianity

by Ladybug

Christians today have misunderstood the true meaning of Christianity. Christians are suppose to be Christ like. It takes more than going to the house of "God" on Sunday's, prayer on Monday's, bible study on Tuesday's. What people fail to understand is that one day there will be a new heaven and earth, and church will be in the hearts of man and no longer in the books.

In order to practice true Christianity you first have to have love in your hearts. You have to fellowship, help the widows that are in mourning, treat your neighbors with kindness, visit the sick and shut in, be kind to the less fortunate people that visit your church, comfort and pray for each other.

Putting on fashion shows, performing like you're at show-time at the Apollo, looking for fortune and fame in "God's" house is not the true way of practicing Christianity. The true practice of Christianity is charity, love and the giving of yourselves without expecting anything in return.

God paid the price for all of our sins. He was mocked, scourged, and crucified so that we could have life. In order for us to be Christ like, we to have to pay the price as a Christian, through trials and tribulations. The real practice of Christianity isn't just reading the bible, paying your dues. It's living the life by following the golden rules of his Commandments.

It griefs my spirit to see people get up in church and profess to be holy, holy and step outside of the house of "God" and their sanctified mask comes off and the true person is revealed. You can't just talk the talk, you must walk the walk. And if you're practicing the Christianity in your heart as you should, then you won't have to say a word, because your light will shine for people to see that you are a Christian.
