Absolutely not. America is not even ready for a president that is not a white home grown American man, and only recently are we seriously considering a woman president in Hillary Clinton. America is very closed minded when it comes to politics. Even though the idea of a woman or black president has been toyed with in the media, I am willing to bet that most people see this and say to themselves: "oh thats an interesting thought" or are even outright offended. So to put an openly gay man or woman up for this position would be potentially dangerous to that person. I believe that America is going through another civil rights battle just the same as what women struggled with, and black people struggled with. Many of the same issues are arising with this new minority such as, probably the best known, gays in the military. Alot of people don't want gay men defending our country so its hard for me to believe that they would have one leading our country. This battle is just as bloody and until Americans can overcome their fears and ignorance, yet again, this idea is farfeched at best.

On the other hand, I also believe that Americans are much more experienced with these types of issues than in the past. I do not think that it will take as much time for these PEOPLE to become fully assimilated into society as a working part rather than a topic of discussion.
