I will never forget my first date with my husband. It was a blind date. I saw this adorable man waiting around for me (poor thing, I was almost 20 minutes late) with this Godiva bag. That he had thought to give yummy chocolates when we really didn't know each other, meant so much to me!
You don't need to break the bank to give a thoughtful gift. You just put your heart into it, and the person will feel your love.
My mother is really humble, and becomes embarrassed when given a gift, so I wrote her a poem about what an inspiration she is to me, and quite a few years later, though it is worn and yellow, she still has it hung up in her room!
Something as small as a card with thoughtful words or something handmade like a small vase or a painting can mean so much to a loved one. When it comes to something pricey versus something from the heart, go with the heart.
