The fashion trends of 2013 will see influences from decades gone by. Some are continuation of trends we’ve already seen consistently in the very recent few years. Recently, lace over-laid dresses became popular and worn by celebrities, including the Duchess of Cambridge herself, Kate Middleton. Lacy creations were seen on the runway shows for this year from famous fashion labels and design houses such as Valentino, Loewe, Oscar de la Renta, Elie Saab, Vera Wang and Roberto Cavalli.

Peplum is a style detail that was around in the 1940s and reappeared in the 1980s. Peplums, which are typically short flared-out ruffles, can be built-in onto tops, jackets, skirts and dresses at the waist for a cinched-in effect.
It looks like the peplum is back again. Last year, on more than one occasion, high profile celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and the Duchess of Cambridge wore peplum accented attires.
