On February 24, 2006 10-week-old Jason Midyette was brought to the emergency room by his parents, Alex and Molly Midyette, because the child "looked lethargic." They would soon learn why as doctors learned that the new born was underweight and had suffered 27 (some place it at 22 depending on the source) broken bones and had massive head trauma, including a fractured skull and a cerebral hemorrhage. Little Jason died a week later.
Fast forward to March 29, 2007 and no one has yet to provide any answers concerning the newborns death. No charges filed. No arrests although the Boulder County Coroner concluded that this was a homicide. The parents (and prime suspects), Alex and Molly Midyette, have refused to work with authorities and have hired high powered attorneys. Alex Midyettes' father, J. Nold Midyette, is a very prominent architect and commercial real estate owner in Boulder County. Like wise, Boulder DA Mary Lacy (of Jon Benet fame) has refused to answer questions concerning the case despite mounting pressure. Maybe she is too busy looking for another quick media circus act (see John Mark Karr debacle) instead of rendering justice for this little one.
Jason Midyette deserves better in death than he got in life. Keep in mind that he had over 20 broken bones when he arrived at the emergency room and suffered terribly his whole short life before finally passing away. I hope and pray that you, the Helium readers, will contact Mary Lacy (information below) and demand that something be done about this horrific case.
