Poetry: Protection

by Richard Frankland

Created on: March 29, 2007   Last Updated: May 14, 2007

Protection,
but at a price.
The cost,
the way to stay safe.
Silence,
must be guaranteed.
Break it,
you will need to flee.
Fear is how the system works.
You fear us,
then so do worse!
By following the simple golden rules,
you will live long,
and happy lives.
Some have tried,
to stand against us.
It has been to their detriment.
We're here to help,
to keep the calm.
You'd miss us,
if we weren't around.
Protection,
but at a cost.
Trapped inside your homes,
your box.
Freedom lost,
your safety found!
We keep unwanted,
crime rates down!
