Strategies for homeschooling children of different ages

At first, it may seem a daunting task to try to prepare curriculum for your children, especially if you have children with ample age differences. But, relax, it's really not difficult, and you don't need a degree to provide your children a solid, educational foundation. What you do need is some time, resourcefulness, and desire to homeschool. So, take a deep breath, grab a cup of coffee, and we'll explore various approaches to getting organized.

First, forget everything you know about school schedules. It is not a written rule that math begin and end at a certain time, and then, move on to the next subject. Once their strengths and weaknesses were established, I used the Internet to research various methods used by other homeschooling families. Some people use curriculum, and follow guidelines used by public schools. Some people use a combination of both, which is what I chose to do with my children.

Having children of varying ages didn't pose a problem. One of the best things about homeschooling is it teaches children to be self-motivated. When I need to work with my youngest child, my two older children are able to do their work on their own. But, we spend a lot of time together, as
