Okay listen carefully. It is warm right? Remember this, gas burns in a vapor. So during the summer months keep your vehicle filled up and try to forgo the refueling-you know this concept, we all do it, just put $10 in and go on your merry way? DO NOT do this, every time you open your fuel tank you are releasing vapors, which will not go to fuel your engine but evaporate in the air.
Also, keep the air conditioning at a consistent level and keep the windows rolled up. The easy concept is simple. When you are driving down the expressway this is keeping the drag off the car and allowing the vehicle to stay cool. It reduces the air dynamics of the vehicle by keeping the windows down. It is a common misconception that the A/C burns more gas, but it is the drag on the vehicle with the windows open that contribute to the reduction in the fuel economy.
