Membership sites are a great way to create a residual income stream that will last for years to come. There are literally thousands of hobbies, interests and topics that are suitable for a focused or niche membership site.

Many Internet marketers have already discovered this, but the majority of sites are on the topic of Internet marketing. Non-marketing topics are not at all common, so there are many opportunities for anyone to create a membership site around their favorite hobby, pastime or business.

To get an idea of how easy it is to generate an income stream from membership sites, let's do some math. Let's say that you start a membership site with a monthly membership fee of just $9.50 and you get just one new member each day for 3 months. At the end of the 3 months, if you have retained your members, you will have almost 100 members. That's $950 every month...and growing as you gain new members. What if you created 3 more sites and for each of those sites you also had one new member each day for 3 months. Your income would now be in the order of 4 x $950 = $3800.

That's not a bad monthly income! Of course, your success is going to depend on how much you put into your site(s). If you want to retain your existing members then you need to be delivering new products or services each and every month that are worth considerably more than the membership fee.
