Tips for removing a tick from yourself

However you got the tick is not as important as getting out of your skin as soon as possible. Infection usually begins to set in after a couple of hours, and the sooner you get to it, the better your chances of decreasing further more serious infection.
Using a pair of tweezers, grasp firmly at it's head or mouth as close to the skin as you can. This is the point of entry and where you want to make sure you get the head out. Then carefully start to pull with a steady firm motion, and after removal, put it into a small container of alcohol.

Use alcohol (not the alcohol in the small container) to swab the bite using a cue tip or tissue.
It's important to remove the tick as soon as you possibly can to prevent infection as it increases within one to three days.
It's be said not to use Vaseline or a hot match to remove and kill and remove the tick.
