Since her first album release in 2010, Nicki Minaj has claimed her stake in the rap industry as a respected female rap artist. With her songs ranging from rap, hip hop to pop, Nicki Minaj has a wide array of different types of fans. Known for more than just her singing and rap skills, Nicki Minaj is always a show-stopper. Creating a Nicki Minaj-inspired makeup look takes a little creativity and courageousness in trying some bold color combinations.

Eyebrows

The first step in achieving this makeup look is to have perfectly sculpted brows. A product like Brow Zings is a one-stop-spot for eyebrows. It contains a handy tweezer for arid hairs, two brushes for easy application and two shades of brow makeup. The shades are dark enough to fill in any uneven spots in the brow line, but light enough not to appear too overwhelming on the face.

Face

The overall complexion of the face should be even and smooth. It'€™s important to choose a foundation with even coverage that can be blended well with concealer for under the eyes and to hide any blemishes, acne scars or dark spots. Instead of a glowing luminous look, the face should have a matte-like finish without any shine. A great product for achieving this look is MAC's Studio Fix Powder Foundation. This gives even coverage, eliminates shine and blends well with other products.

Although some makeup looks call for a subtle highlight in blush, a Nicki Minaj-inspired makeup look calls for a bold color to highlight the cheekbones. Choose a bright pink blush from the smile line to the upper cheek bone and don'€™t be light on coverage.

Eyes

Nicki Minaj's eye makeup is multidimensional in color. The first step is to purchase a quality false eyelash. False eyelashes can be found in your local grocery store for a minimal price, but they can be a little tricky to apply. Cut the lashes into small sections for easier to manage application. Choose an eyelash with a longer wing towards the outside corner of the eye. Make sure to curl your natural lashes before applying and add jet black mascara.

Line the eye in a dark jet black liquid liner. While the top line should be all encompassing, sweeping from the inner eye to the very end corner, the bottom line should start from the middle towards the outside corner. Choosing not to outline the entire bottom of the eye will help to make the eyes appear bigger, while fully outlining the eyes can close them off to appear smaller.

There are three shades of eyeshadow that go into a Nicki Minaj-inspired makeup look. The first shade is closest to the lash line and is in a light bold color. This can range from turquoise to shimmering white. The next shade is a bright pink that is very similar to the blush color and is applied across the middle of the eyelid. The last shade is a pale shimmering eyeshadow applied just below the brow line.

Lips

Signature for her bright pink lipstick, Nicki Minaj has teamed up with MAC Cosmetics for their Viva Glam product line. The Viva Glam Nicki Lipstick comes in tube form and is only $15. There is also a corresponding Viva Glam Nicki Lipglass product that is a hot pink lipgloss that complements the lipstick color perfectly.

While not everyone can pull off a Nicki Minaj-inspired makeup look, it can be a fun and feminine look for the adventurous woman or the occasional day of experimenting with makeup. Finish off your Nicki Minaj-inspired makeup look with some shine-free powder and you have a completed look that is both striking and statement making.
