Developing leadership skills in children outside of school

It is not very hard to recognize a good leader when he/she is around and it is not enough just to be in position of authority.

A good leader just makes everything to run smoothly , in the most efficient manner possible. Such a person knows how to get the best out of the people he/she works with...

Too often being bossy, " I am in control here!" type of attitude is taken for leadership but actually everyone who has been dealing with someone like that, would agree that this is the worst kind of leadership possible.

So, what is a good leadership?

It is successful leadership were a leader is able to accomplish certain task, whether it is a military mission or increase in sales in a department of a retail store.

It takes a character to be a leader, humility, ability to relate to people well and coach them to achieve better results individually and as a team.

Leaders produce leaders and the best place to produce a good leader is a family, of course in the absence of good family environment someone else can step into a child's life but this doesn't happen very often.

If you are reading this, this means that you are the parent who cares and this makes you more than capable to turn your kid into a good leader.

Be one yourself, lead by the example. This doesn't mean that you have to be perfect, just learn to acknowledge your limitations, be ready to apologize for any wrong doing in front of your child and even to your child if you do wrong to him.

Recognize your child's success not only failure, teach submission and be ready to show submission for a good leader must first learn how to submit, everyone must submit to someone , a boss , a law , God.

Teach consequences to all actions rather than punishment, show how you also often face them in your life.

The list could go on , it is not easy to develop good character but it worths all your efforts and will make fabulous leader even out of a timid child.
