Making your own body lotions is both fun and easy. Not only can you save money, but you can also put your creativity to work, and as easy as cooking your favorite dish, create wonderful concoctions that will soothe tired and dry skin.

BASIC LOTION RECIPE

With this easy recipe, you can create a variety of different lotions. This simple lotion recipe is the starting point to most fancy lotions, just use your imagination and you may invent the next anti aging skin care remedy. Hand made lotions can also be frugal gift ideas. Once you get good at making your lotions, buy some attractive containers at the dollar store, and design your own lotion line.

Ingredients:

Cup Olive Oil
2 teaspoons Steric Acid
1 teaspoon of Emulsifying Wax
Cup Water
1/3 Tablespoon Borax

Directions:

Stir ingredients together and heat on medium high until slow boil. Here is where you get to be creative. Add any other ingredients that you would like (example, Vitamin E, color, glitter, fragrance), and pour into a plastic bowl. Stir mixture until cool, and put into a fancy container.
