Money doesn't "bring" anything to the table. What it brings is a false sense of security to people that lack the inner peace to see beyond what is apparent. Orginially we bartered for things that we required or needed for survival. That became cumbersome and then we moved to exchaning bits and pieces of such things as gold and silver. Next we added paper money. In addition to all that we created larger lists of "needs" and our "need" for money increased. Simplicity was lost somewhere along the way. Now even the most educated of people fail to see the difference between what is required and what is just extra baggage.
Money is a tool that we created in order to make it easier for us to be able to get what we need and want (notice I added wants to this list). If we look at it's value try saying okay if I want or need that sack of grain what is it's value? Is it worth three laying hens? Is it worth a basket of tomatoes? What is it's worth. Because people fail to understand that the value of money is determined by the supply and demand factor they regularly get ripped off. For example a loaf of bread at the regular store costs over $2.00. At the military commissary that same loaf of bread costs .99 and in some places like say Alaska that same loaf of bread may cost $4.00. Nothing has changed. The way the bread is made is the same but a different value has been placed on perhaps the commodities it took to make it. Bread is locally made so it will depend on maybe the availability of the items that it takes to make? That doesn't wash since the military commissary is just blocks away from the regular store. So what is it? It is the value of brand. The same brand costs more or less depending on the demand of the public being served for the item. Natures Harvest Bread may appeal more to a more affluent group than to a practical group and so they are willing to pay more for it. The consumer gets cheated daily this way and nobody seems to mind (except those of us that then go to the commissary to get the name brand stuff for less money).
Money cannot bring you happiness only a false sense of confidence and security where none is to be had.
