I guess it all depends on the upbringing that our next generation is going through, which will then determine whether they will succeed in life and be a moral citizen or unsuccessful in their life and be a anti-moral citizen.
Nowadays, there is so much happening in our society that the stigma attached to bad kids or immoral kids due to their parents not giving them the love and support that they should be giving their kids the day they were born from their mother's womb. So now, we start pointing fingers at one another, from the kids, that their parents don't spend enough time with them or that from the parents, that the kids were led to bad behaviors in school and after school, mainly influences from their peers or friends that they happen to bump into, whom have taught them to act this way.
I feel that both parties are at fault, a clap to be heard has to be clapped by both hands. Same thing applies to relationship and family ties. Kids are usually the ones being blamed for bad behaviors and immoral attitudes. I often see kids smoking in a group, start robbing and stealing and finally ended up in Youth Rehabilitation Centers. Those that are lucky enough to escape, gets braver, the next thing to do is to get involved with drugs. They blame their parents for not being there for them when they needed them. Parents who think that money and freedom can be substitutes in place of their guidance and parental love, will notice this too late as their youngs are turning out to be hooligans and involved in gangsters activities.
Well, how could I blame it on the parents, parents themselves have a role to play in this mad and rat race society. They try to build up their career and work and are often tired and lazy after a days work to be bothered about their children's upbringing, employs a maid to look and take care of their children since young. This has been the trend, nowadays to have such an arrangement in the household of many career minded parents. I wouldn't say that it is all wrong to have such a mentality. It really depends on how much time and control, one has on his/her work and at the same time balance it up with family life. Time with their kids at home, building the bonds that the kids needs so much now, especially when they are young. So the next question is, how do we balance up our time with work and family life? Simple, focus your energy on what is the priority in your life or this stage in your life, is it the career path you've chosen or the new born kid, whom you'll like to mentor and take care. This happen to be a difficult question for all of us out there, but really put some thought into this and everything else will fall into place.
Hence, my piece of advice, plan early, prioritize your life and commitments and you will be on top of your schedule and keep in mind of this and you'll never lose track, but even when you do, always come back to this list to remind of yourself of your priorities and commitments.
